I absolutely love to read books that teach me about the goodness in the foods that are available to us; this book certainly brought me joy. Discovering the amazing health benefits of coconut meat, milk, water and oil just amazed me. Here are just a few things that the coconut can do for you; prevent heart disease, dissolve kidney stones, enhance the immune system and protect against cancer. Wow! What an eye opener.

The book starts out with explaining about the coconut and giving you some examples how those on islands use it. Very interesting! After that, the author goes into the healing aspects of the fruit, from the meat to the oil. He does this in a very concise and easy to understand manual; giving you examples of what they can do for you, how to use them and also gives testimonies on how this fruit has helped others.

I really enjoyed this book and intend to give what I have learned a try. I believe there are a lot of natural foods out there that we just don't know how good they are for us, now I believe coconut is one of them. I recommend this book for anyone
that is interested in being a healthier person. I believe you will find many health reasons to give coconuts a try – A read well worth your time.

Great Book On Using An Organic Food For Good Health

The book, Coconut Cures, is one of the most comprehensive health books about the use of one natural fruit-product for optimal daily health that I have read. People who are having trouble losing weight, like me, should try to continue a more organic approach. After reading this book, I was willing to at least try raw coconut meat and its milk. Results have been positive. If you're searching for a new method for improving your body and preventing routine illnesses, I would suggest exploring this excellent book too.

I have always loved coconut but never knew how great it was for you. This is a wonderful book. I loved all the testimonials to each way it is used showing how others benefited. I have already lost a little weight as well with what Bruce talks about. I loved the book and look forward to collecting all of his books. I also bought Cooking With Coconut Flour another great book. :) Bruce is very talented to do so much research and still publish so many wonderful books. :)

This title is no exaggeration. We are talking cures. If you are new to the many health benefits of using coconut oil, this is the first book to read. It will get you excited about gaining more energy, losing weight, improving your skin, killing yeast in your gut, boosting your thyroid function, and on and on. All I can say is wow. I have been taking 2 tablespoons of VCO per day for a month, and I can say it really works. I have read many other books on this topic, but this is my favorite. As I was reading I had to keep jumping up to tell my husband each new impressive statistic.

Coconut Oil and Weight Loss
Many people have reported that consuming Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) helps them to lose weight. They often see increased energy levels and fewer cravings for carbohydrates and sweets. It’s easier for many people to eat less when consuming 2 - 4 Tablespoons of coconut oil per day, because the fats provide a feeling of satiety or fullness after eating that is not generally experienced when eating a low-fat meal.

Virgin coconut oil is rich in the medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), like lauric acid, that have been shown to boost the metabolism. In fact, around 50% of the fatty acids in this coconut oil are lauric acid. It turns out that the amount of energy used to metabolize these MCFAs is greater than the energy they provide, and lauric acid is the most rapidly metabolized fatty acid, scientist have found. Coconut oil has a “thermogenic” effect, meaning it raises your body temperature. This in turn boosts energy levels and metabolism.

Another good thing about coconut oil, especially for the many of us who have spent years consuming harmful fats like the trans-fats in vegetable oils, is that coconut oil is easier to digest than other fats. It doesn’t need bile in order to be broken down and used by the body. This can be useful since many of us now have a hard time digesting fats because we produce less bile. Even if you don’t have a problem with fat digestion, coconut oil is still great for losing weight because of the way the body is able to turn it directly into energy.

According to a 2000 report published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, you burn off coconut oil three times faster than many other common fats. In a 1986 study by T.B. Seaton et al in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, people who ate meals containing MCFAs increased their metabolic rate an average of 12%, compared to a 4% increase for those eating meals with long-chain fatty acids (LCTs). The authors concluded that eating MCFAs could “over long periods of time produce weight loss even in the absence of reduced (caloric) intake”.

Once again, coconut oil is nature’s richest source of these medium-chain fatty acids, which in addition to increasing metabolism have many other health-enhancing properties.
